What do you think the Arts District will mean to the community?

The Arts District will be a significant contribution to Bellingham’s unique character and will help foster the sense of place as we continue to grow.
The community will take great pride in knowing that diverse arts venues in the area are working together to enhance Bellingham’s quality of life for future generations.
The Arts District will be a vibrant, exciting neighborhood, with “places for people” and activities throughout the day and into evening. Visitor will enjoy using all five sense to experience the Arts District.They will be entertained, educated and stimulated.
Cities that invest in the arts in their downtown also draw culturally creative new residents who bring new energy, businesses and philanthropic dollars.
An entire district dedicated to arts and cultural offerings will bring richness to the community.
The Arts District will provide a depth to the culture of Bellingham, enriching the meaning of life through various expressions of creativity.

The Arts District could also:

Continue to focus on local businesses, which give the Arts District part of its authentic feel.
Use the library as a resource and as a meeting and program site for activities as well as partnering with the library on events and programming and including the library in marketing.
Help expand community energy and interest, stimulating increased public and private investment and involvement in arts, education and cultural activities.
Providing creative streetscapes and the proximity of multiple venues for exploring the arts will enhance the experience of any visitor as they enter the District.
